Pastor: Nigel Stokes

Women’s Worker: Caroline Napper - Caroline has lived in Epsom for 8 years and is originally from the nearby area. She is married to James and they have three lively children!

Before having kids she was a high school teacher and has also taught English as a foreign language.

In church life she loves meeting with other ladies on a Friday morning to study the Bible and pray together. At the weekend she can be found supporting her daughters as they play football or watching history documentaries with her son.

Our trustees

The trustees are made up of all the elders of the church, as well as a number of other church members. The non-elder trustees are:

  • Sharon Conibeer - Sharon lives in Epsom, and grew up in the area. She was brought up hearing the gospel and became a Christian in her early teens. After training as a nurse, Sharon has worked in the NHS for 38 years, managing inpatient wards, and for the last 11 years she has been service manager for an NHS community team. Sharon is married to Martin and they have three grown up children.

  • Stephen Hurdle - Stephen has been married to Sandie for 45 years and they have four grown-up children. He has recently retired from his practice as a Chartered Tax Adviser, which has (largely) kept him out of trouble for the past 32 years.

Stephen’s church career path has been more varied: an Anglican until lured and retained by the United Reformed Church by virtue of the youth club on offer (which is also where he met Sandie). They have since been part of a Baptist Church and helped plant an Independent Church in Southampton, and have been part of Emmanuel Epsom since 2018 when they moved to Headley.

Stephen and Sandie have been involved in differing aspects of church life; financial, leading small groups and services, running marriage preparation courses, setting up a church playgroup, leadership. They have been conscious of God’s help in these areas and always felt it such a privilege to serve their brothers and sisters in Christ.
